An early morning trip to the spray
fields produced a few reasonable birds with nice light to photograph then in.
There was little about but a small group of four male Namaqua Doves was a
pleasant surprise feeding on the sandy area by the spray field. I managed to manoeuvre myself into a position with the sun behind and took a couple of good photos of
the species. Whilst looking at the Doves three Eurasian Hoopoes flew in and
started to feed but were frightened off a short distance where I managed to
take the below shot of one of the birds landing in a small shrub. Other
interesting birds seen included two Indian (Clamorous) Reed Warblers in two
different reed clumps and several Kentish Plover and Black-winged Stilts.
