Partially leucistic Eurasian Collared Dove - Dhahran Hills

Things are still slow on the ‘patch’ although an Upcher’s Warbler flitting around the scrubby area at the corner of the percolation pond was a nice bird to see on the 7th August as was a Western Osprey, which is probably the same bird as has been seen here a couple of times in the last month on the same day. The Western Osprey was again seen flying over the pond and alighting on the fence. Other migrants seen have included a European Bee-eater, three Blue-cheeked Bee-eaters, two Eurasian Hoopoes and 1+ Barn Swallows. Wader numbers are slowly increasing with two Ruff, three Little Stints, five Little Ringed Plovers & seven Kentish Plovers. Clamorous Reed Warblers are still active in the reeds presumably still feeding young. A partially leucistic (a bird having reduced pigmentation) Eurasian Collared Dove was present on the fence surrounding the pond, which is the first time I have seen this bird in Dhahran. It will be interesting to see if it stays round as it is a very obvious bird.
