The very hot months of summer are keeping the birds quite during the day and in the evening some of the hardy ones come out to feed up such as this Laughing Dove. They are resident in the area and over the last twenty years have gone from and vagrant to a resident breeder in large numbers. This one was taken on the grass area by our house, hence it does not look much like desert.
