Juvenile Black-winged Stilt

Black-winged Stilt is still the most visible bird on the local patch at Dhahran. Today there were eighty birds, mainly juveniles on the percolation pond along with a single Ruff. Kentish Plover were scattered about on the scrubby desert area and are now passing through the site with good numbers of European Turtle Dove also present. A single Rufous-tailed Scrub Robin was gathering food in its normal corner of scrub and a single Sand Martin was seen flying around the same area. The only other bird of note was an adult Gull-billed Tern hawking over the percolation pond briefly before continuing its journey onwards, which is the first one I have seen on the local patch since mid May.
