04/06/2011 – Dhahran Hills
Today, in the scrub surrounding the percolation pond, I saw a young White-eared Bulbul. This is clear evidence the species still breeds in Dhahran Camp, where it has done so for many years. The first occurrence of the species breeding here, seen by me this year, was on 12th May when I photographed a large juvenile. Even though the climate is very harsh in Eastern Saudi Arabia in the summer there are still birds prepared to breed here.
